Our lab is developing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for the understanding, diagnosis, and prognosis of ophthalmic pathologies (e.g. glaucoma, myopia, and papilledema). We are leveraging on biomedical imaging such optical coherence tomography (OCT) and MRI.
Ocular biomechanics is involved in almost all major ophthalmic disorders such as optic nerve head neuropathies, angle closure, ametropia, presbyopia, cataract, corneal pathologies, and retinal detachment. Our lab is currently developing clinical engineering tools for the diagnosis and treatment of such pathologies.
Our lab is currently translating several medical devices including AI software (to better manage optic neuropathies) and physical devices (e.g. pupil expander for improved cataract surgery).
