OEIL’s research aim is to develop and apply custom engineering tools for the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of ophthalmic pathologies. The translational nature of our work requires close collaboration with clinicians and industry, which we have fostered in past years and will continue to expand. Our basic science and translational research at OEIL has focused on 3 thematic pillars, namely:

• Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning, with a special emphasis on biomedical imaging (OCT and MRI).
• Ocular Biomechanics (Experimental & Computational)
